                Honeybee classroom

"The Honeybee classroom", Teaching children about the importance of the environment and the life of bees.
At Yamada Bee Farm, our beekeeping staff travel to local area elementary schools, and using honeybees as examples, teach about "living together with nature," "respect for nature," and "connected lives."
Our education covers the habits of honeybees, their anatomical design, and their contribution to nature. One fact conveyed to the children is that the amount of honey gatherable from a bee during its lifetime does not amount to even a spoonful. By teaching children this, we teach them: to have respect for life; how bees, flowers, and people help each other; and how nature and life are connected. Children take a sense of contribution away from the discussion.
Yamada Bee Farm continues to promote the health and development of children using the theme of nature.
